From the President Thank you for reading this, it is intended to acquaint you with what our Shul can offer but, maybe even more importantly, it reminds all of us that the whole organisation is there for us to benefit from, throughout the different aspects and stages of our lives. From Rabbi Kupperman Our synagogue has been on the frontline of Jewish life in Leeds for more than hundred years, promoting Jewish education and physical and spiritual welfare for the Community. It is a vibrant and dynamic congregation where you will find, in addition to daily minyan, a variety of educational and social programmes to suit every taste and interest.
As Rabbi of Etz Chaim Synagogue, I look forward to being accessible to all within the Shul and to attracting new members as well. I would like to offer, and to be offered, ideas about different ways in which members will feel comfortable at Shul both on Shabbat and through the week.
Please remember; the Rabbi is here to answer to your needs and questions, so don’t hesitate to approach me, come to Shul or telephone or email me, you will be helping me to do my job!

From the Chazan During my tenure as Chazan Rishon (First Reader) of our synagogue, it has always been my preoccupation to make the Shul feel welcoming.
As you walk through the doors, invariably you will see me sitting or standing on the Bimah. If I am sitting on my chair, do come over and if you should require one, take a Tallit from the side of my chair. Also, if you require a page reference or some advice, please feel free to ask. If I can possibly assist, I will with the greatest of pleasure.
I hope that you will enjoy the service.
